Moore Bass Consulting is a growing, well-established civil engineering and surveying firm providing consulting services throughout the southeast. Our professional services include Civil; Environmental; Land Surveying; Land Planning; Landscape Architecture; and Construction Administration.

Moore Bass Consulting has an opening for Survey CADD Technician in our Tallahassee, FL office. Under the direct supervision of a PLS, you will primarily prepare construction staking calculations, boundary and topographic surveys and legal descriptions. You may serve as a lead worker to other CADD drafters with less experience in Survey related matters. You will be responsible for technical performance on small projects and/or tasks on large projects. The position requires a strong understanding of surveying and the site work. Previous experience working with surveying matters related to utilities including water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure projects is a plus. This role requires regular interaction with our engineers and clients and excellent verbal and written communications skills are required. Position requires experience and proficiency with Civil 3D software.

Typical Duties:

  • Survey CADD production for one or multiple projects for multiple clients
  • Visit job sites and consultant offices as needed to support the project
  • Work within project scopes, deadlines, and budgets for projects
  • Communicate and coordinate efforts and ideas

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience including boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, construction staking and data collection required
  • Intermediate to experienced level of expertise with all major technical aspects of surveying
  • Knowledge of the standard application of surveying techniques and procedures
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D – survey drafting experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • LSI licensure a plus, but not required
  • Land survey field experience a plus
  • Ability to read and organize field notes
  • Ability to read Construction Plans
  • Ability to execute field staking
  • Ability and willingness to learn and accept new responsibilities as experience is gained
  • Valid driver’s license

Skills:

  • Highly proficient in mathematics and measurements
  • Knowledge of survey ethics and technical standards
  • Highly proficient in construction procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Associates Degree in Land Surveying / Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), or related
  • Knowledge of Scanning Technologies
